Waiting to board the river cruise... the light fading in the sky and starting to glow on the bridges and buildings that are illuminated beside the river. A beautiful time - not quite day and not quite night...

No particular reason to photograph this feature in the grounds... it just appealed to me because it had both design form and functionality. It is just so nice to see China take pleasure in its design history and use design elements to enrich their public spaces.
I begin to understand the notion of red being synonymous with happiness.
Such a big space! It had that deep, muffled feel of a well designed sound-space.... quiet and still even with quite a few visitors inside.
Coming up on stage and turning to the space and the size and acoustics were amazing.
A beautiful building with beautiful grounds.

Just had to take a photo of McDonalds in Beijing Road, Guangzhou. Except for the characters - you could be anywhere in the world! We came in for... clean rest rooms, only to find quite a number of our NSW DEC group sitting in the familiar atmosphere!
